OF MUSIC PROUDLY PRESENTS OUR BELOVED GURUJI PANDIT JASRAJ IN CONCERT!
We are delighted to
announce that Panditji will not only grace the stage to share his
sublime voice in concert but will also be presenting a "Jasrangi
Jugalbandi” for the first time in Vancouver. The Jasrangi Jugalbandi
uses two singers, one male and one female. This concept is based on the
system of Moorchanas, where two singers sing different ragas in
different scales at the same time. The resulting alchemy blends two
ragas, with different tonal centers and ornamentation together for a
unique experience for Hindustani classical listeners. This performance
will include vocalists Tripti Mukerjee, Suman Ghose and Samir Chatterjee
on Tabla.
